Deadly Design

A few days ago, Harley Jean Davidson barely escaped being killed by jewelry thieves. The last thing she wants is to get mixed up in any other kind of investigation. Yet here she is, letting her Aunt Darcy talk her into finding out if her silent partner in her interior design business is really smuggling in illegal artifacts. Of course, the $5,000 payment her aunt promises does have a lot to do with Harley's change of heart. Besides, what could be easier than a little stealthy snooping for a big payoff? When she finds a body hanging off elk antlers in her aunt's design shop, Harley remembers that nothing in her life is ever easy. To make it worse, she's not completely certain her aunt isn't responsible, as her childhood friend Bobby Baroni, a Memphis Homicide detective, suspects. Mike Morgan, an undercover cop who helps Harley heat up the already sultry summer nights, wants her to stay out of it and let the police handle it. Maybe he's right. But the next thing she knows, Harley stumbles across another body, finds herself being stalked by a possible killer, assaulted by farm animals, and rescued by a temperamental cat. And to top it all off, Aunt Darcy is arrested for murder. Just when it seems things can't get any worse, Harley is confronted by the killer....
