Summer around Newfound Lake can’t end until everyone attends Old Home Day. The day-long celebration is intended to draw people back to where they grew up, reliving some of their favorite childhood memories. New Hampshire is credited with starting the New England observance, and nothing exemplifies it better than the Community Center’s tradition of the Lobster & Chicken Dinner in late August. Kenny and Rebecca participate in all aspects of the event before lining up to get their big summer meal.
No one expects the day to end with the mysterious death of a well-known volunteer ― his behaviors just can’t be explained, but no one other than Kenny and Rebecca seem to notice. Were they seeing things, or was this upstanding member of the community the victim of a devious plan?
With no obvious means or motive, will the opportunity to claw their way to the truth show itself, or will they resort to just winging the investigation?
