Forecheck

(2024)
(The first book in the Detroit Warriors series)
A novel by

Third year law student Berkley Daniels isn’t anyone special—at least, she doesn’t think so. She’s your regular twenty-something. Great friends, amazing family, and on the precipice of starting her career. The last thing she wants or needs is a relationship, or a distraction in the form of Detroit Warriors’ star forward, Brent Jean.

Professional hockey player Brent Jean is talented, sexy, and living a charmed lifestyle. On the surface, he has everything a man could wantfame, fortune, and a mass of adoring female fans. But Brent wants more, wants to settle down and start a family of his own. When he meets Berkley, he can’t help thinking she could be the one.

When Brent pursues her, Berkley is helpless to resist the pull between them. Their relationship heats up quickly, but for Berkley, dating a professional hockey player isn’t always smooth skating. Both of them have some emotional baggage they must trust each other to help carry. Will they find that happily ever after, or will the weight become too much to bear?

Author's Note:

Forecheck is the first book in the Detroit Warriors series. A book featuring these characters was previously published under the title For the Boys. It has since been rewritten, including change in POV from third to first, major plot changes including trimming of several B-plots and characters, cutting around 20,000 words, and digging deeper into the character development. There is also no longer a third act breakup. If you read the original version and didn't enjoy it, I totally understand! My only hope is that you'll give this new one a chance :) and if you read the OG and loved it, I hope you love the new Brent and Berkley even more.

Manda
