Amanda Coetzee


UK flag (b.1967)

Born in Bedford, England, Coetzee graduated from De Montfort University in Leicester with a BA (Hons) degree in Performing Arts in 1989.

Amanda worked in adult education in London for several years, including a brief tenure at Holloway Womens Prison before travelling and eventually falling in love with her husband and South Africa. She is currently the deputy principal of a large school in Rustenburg.

Flaming June follows on from Redemption Song and Bad Blood and is Amandas third novel featuring police detective Harry OConnor, a flawed and conflicted character whos known by the Irish Travellers who adopted him, as "Badger". French rights were secured for the first two books in the series and this year has been an exciting flurry of literary festivals as local and international interest continues to grow in these fast paced thrillers.
