I lost my high-powered legal career and my boss-slash-boyfriend to one of my clients.
It's hard not to hold a grudge, particularly since he destroyed me to conceal his white collar crimes. Worse, his new girlfriend is a social media influencer who's flooding the internet with their supposed happiness. It doesn't help that I've moved back in with my eccentric mother and am pretending to enjoy redecorating her mansion.
I end up telling my soon-to-be brother-in-law all about my problems over a flask of whiskey before our siblings' wedding. He looks like trouble and talks like it too, so I'm not surprised when he tells me the only way to get over such a slight is to get even.
