The domed stadium in Texas was one of the world's wonders - and now it was scheduled to give a full display of its awesome capabilities. First a hugely popular religious cult leader would appear. Next was the turn of a rock superstar. Then the climax would come with a pro football game sure to pack the stadium with 112,000 fans. The first trouble sign was the inexplicable breakdown of the air-conditioning systems. Then a guard discovered the empty cartridges cases. Next the bullet-ridden targets were found, and the seemingly meaningless notes. If there had been time, the pieces might have been put together. But the people were already in their seats, the action on the field had begun, and the clock started ticking on a monstrous game of life and death that any moment could explode into a slaughter. . .
