Mike Faraday, the laconic L.A. private investigator, is hired by top people's jeweller Ladislav Burke to find a girl designer who has left his employ, inexplicably leaving behind industrial diamonds worth thousands of dollars. Mike's investigations involve him with the elegant proprietress of a motel where the girl stayed, the occupants of a dark sedan which shadows him, and a big-time Chicago mobster. In a bloody shoot-out, Mike finally brings things to a surprise showdown...
