When the Laconic private investigator Mike Faraday is driving along the mountain road from San Francisco, a girl blundering out of the rainy night involves him in death and deadly danger. Mike,aided by the cool, astringent Stella, is soon upto his ears in murder and mayhem, as four seperate groups struggle for a half million dollar bank haul hidden in an airport locker.
