Married Lies

Lucy Ellis just might be losing her mind. She is convinced that someone has been following her home from work, but of course when she looks, no one is there. The phone calls are real enough, even if the caller never speaks, but why do they never happen when her new husband is at home? Despite the recent and prominent killing of another young woman by her stalker ex-lover, DI Tom Mariner is dubious about the seriousness of these incidents, and has a far more pressing case to pursue when the apparent suicide of widow Nina Silvero turns out to be murder. But with the emergence of some uncanny parallels between the lives of the two women, it begins to look as if there may be a serial stalker on the patch. Mariner meanwhile is trying to protect his young charge Katarina from the unwanted attentions of a young man, whilst trying to field the over-enthusiastic advances of an admirer of his own.
