Christopher Coake recommends
Lake Life (2020)
David James Poissant
"Lake Life is a terrific story, one that, over the course of a long weekend shadowed by random tragedy, delves into a family’s messy history, and finds there not only pain, butthrillinglystubborn survival, hope, and love. The Starling family will be with me a long time. I’m grateful for this book."
The Last Place You Look (2017)
(Roxane Weary, book 1)
Kristen Lepionka
"The Last Place You Look is a beautifully written mystery, one I devoured in a single sitting, late into the night."
Heavy Metal (2017)
Andrew Bourelle
"Heavy Metal is a brilliant debut novel, at once an incisive, complex character study of damaged youth and a ferociously exciting page-turner. Andrew Bourelle knows that suspense is created not only by a loaded gun, but by the fears of the person holding it. He's written one of the best novels I've read in a long time."
