Connie Brummel Crook, who was born and lived in Prince Edward County near Belleville until eight, now lives with her husband Albert in Peterborough, Ontario. A graduate of Queen's University and U of T's College of Education, she taught school for many years. In the last ten years, she has become a writer of historical fiction and authored seven novels and two picture books. Two of Connie's books, Nellie L. and Meyers' Creek, were sold by Troll Book Clubs in schools across Canada and now the French version of Maple Moon is sold by Scholastic. Connie now spends her time researching, writing, giving readings to students and workshops to teachers, reading stories and playing computer games with her five grandchildren.
