This is a memoir of David Callinan's early years as a first generation Irish child born in England. His parents could barely read or write yet he went on to become a journalist and novelist.
In his early youth, he was a singer-songwriter touring Ireland and the UK and played in folk bands in the boom years of the sixties. He played in a group that toured with Elton John, Rod Stewart and Billy Connolly and he co-wrote a Celtic rock opera for the Edinburgh Festival starring Pierce Brosnan.
Latterly, he has written a string of five-star thrillers and fantasy novels.
