He hunted. He was named RADR for a reason. Once he had you on his scope, you were done!

And she, was on his radar. And needed off-world.... fast.....

The price for staying would be too high and she didn't like what was going on one bit. And put herself at risk to help them and made her concerns known. It had got her noticed and not in a good way. This wasn't the usual army. Or what she signed up for and there was something seriously wrong on this base.

She couldn't put her finger on it but things were not..... normal.

It was almost like there were two armies. One what you'd expect, both men and women doing their jobs. Running the show, working, do their jobs, soldiering. And the others all-male and so much more but only fighting. In first and out last carrying wounds that the others did not. The level of which was a little scary.

And then there was him. Captivating her, drawing her in. No matter what she was doing around the base, there he was, in the distance or across the ground, hanger, hallway or room. Her eyes drawn to him. She didn't know why. There were plenty of good-looking men. In fact, the all-male group didn't have an ugly one amongst them! And that was a little weird too. They were all a bit too good-looking.

And yeah, she couldn't keep watching that. She saw the way her commanding officer pawed at him. It was off, wrong and should have been dealt with. A harassment complaint made. In the three months of her deployment there, it's all she could seem to see. But her commanding officer wasn't the only problem. The leadership on this base were assholes. Like it was accepted behavior and that made no sense to her either.

She needed to resign and move on before it became more of a problem. But first, she could do something about the harassment.

The female was putting herself at risk. That's not what he'd intended. He'd only cornered her to watch and understand what was going on and to make it public. She was newly in. Acted differently around them and in a position to do that. So he'd used her to do it.

He'd seen her watching him from a distance, her distaste for the Colonel's actions. He needed her to do what he told her. That and no more. Enough to remove the Colonel. Embarrassment and publicity. The higher-ups wouldn't like it and she'd be gone. But that wasn't all she did and if they caught her they'd be a price to pay for that.

A visit by her to central command and the corruption of their programming started. And he knew she'd put herself at risk to do it. If they found out, she'd be dead. It started to free them, breaking the controls on the programming setting them free at last. They'd have to be careful. Plan it well and be gone before anyone knew.

He looked at the female sleeping in her bed unaware of how easily he could override the locks. He'd been watching her sleep for a while. So peaceful. A peace they didn't have. She couldn't stay. He'd have to manipulate the orders again and take her with them.

They'd be a price to pay for that too.

Would she be willing to pay it?
