The Fall Hunt
(2008)(The third book in the Hummingbird Falls Mystery series)
A novel by Joanne Clarey
*****5 Stars. Clarey has done it again. A thrilling cozy mystery, fast paced and page turning with a sleuth to be reckoned with. This series gets better and better. Cozy Mystery Review.
Fall wraps the tiny mountain hamlet of Hummingbird Falls in a symphony of color and Ellie Hastings and her beloved mutt Buddy are looking forward to all the excitement the season brings. But their plans take a twist when she interrupts a bank robbery and is held hostage. Later as she struggles to piece together critical clues that will identitify the thieves, police chief Dave Shaffer and his two deputies launch a hunt for the robbers.
When Ellie discovers a dead body in the woods and is caught in the fury of the first snowstorm of the season, another layer of malice is added to the mystery. Ellie fights to stay alive, as do three lost hunters being tracked by a hungry black bear, and the bank robbers hunting for their stashed cash. Man-made danger and mother nature collide, turning the mountain into a most treacherous place to become one of the fall hunted.
"A perfect combination for a mystery novel...we want more."
