Maltese Vengeance

(1984)
(The fifth book in the Specialist series)
A novel by

Jack Sullivan, the Specialist, is the toughest action hero of them all.

He's fought around the world, settling personal scores and getting revenge on those who have wronged him.

And now, he's in for some much-needed down-time. Relaxing off the coast of exotic Malta on his black cruiser, his world is at peace.

But not for long.

When a cannon fires at his boat from the nearby ancient Maltese fortress, Sullivan jumps back into action.

He won't go down without a fight. Because he knows he can't be beaten.

If you're shooting at the Specialist, you'd better make sure you shoot accurately.

What follows is a gripping and brutal thriller, as the Specialist uses his cunning and paramount military expertise to hunt down those who tried to kill him. He resists arrest by the Maltese police, endeavouring to find and destroy those responsible for this latest vendetta.

It won't be easy.

When Sullivan learns who is after him, the game takes a thrilling turn. A former Air Force colonel in collaboration with an ex-captain from 'Nam have been selling stolen United States weapons to the Libyans and Colonel Qaddaffi. A man named Warneck wants them found and killed. And when he hears that the Specialist is under attack, he is prepared to arm Sullivan with all the information he needs to take revenge.

Along with his mercenary ally Olliver Tryst, Sullivan engages on a cut-throat adventure that brings him close to death more times than he can count. Caught under the seductive spell of one stunning Rosalita, the Specialist faces his greatest challenge yet.

'Maltese Vengeance' is another gripping instalment in the Specialist series from thriller author John Cutter.
