She never expected to attract a thief. He defends her. But the price could be their love …

Ida Farley is on an urgent mission to deliver something important to her father. A long train journey in the middle of winter is the least of her worries. Someone wants the precious item and Ida soon realizes she’s being followed.

James Farley is intrigued by the lovely young woman seated nearby and they strike up a friendship. But it isn’t long before he has to come to her rescue; someone is determined to steal something from her and James fears that she is in danger. Grateful for his help, Ida accepts his protection for the remainder of the journey.

As they do their best to reach their destination unscathed, James is drawn to Ida. Feelings spring to life, but before they can make plans for the future, disaster strikes and turns his life upside down. Was the price of their love too high, after all? James hopes Ida will wait … but someone else is closing in on her heart.
