Evelyn
It’s only fitting I run off in the middle of the night to secretly marry Crosby Justa, right?
We battle through a disastrous bathroom break, a broken down truck, and a torrential downpour only to have to come back home and pretend like nothing happened.
Our families aren’t okay with our so-called “fling” – so, marriage? That’s way out of the question.
There’s just one problem. Small town gossip flows faster than an overflown creek in a rain storm.
In other words, our secret is out.
Everyone is pissed with a capital P.
My family won’t look me in the eyes and my new in-laws aren’t exactly eager to invite me over for dinner.
Meaning this is exactly as I figured it would be.

What can I say. Evelyn Justa has a nice ring to it.
What doesn’t have a nice ring to it is the sound of my mother’s voice when she finds out her baby boy married into the enemy family.
If that’s not enough, my father-in-law picks me up in his police cruiser in an attempt to scare me. And my brother-in-law wants to fight me – as if we didn’t do that twenty times back in high school.
Nothing I can’t handle though.
Including a shocking twist of events which has both our families planning wedding receptions for my new bride and I on the same day, across the street from one another. The result? An epic food fight that’ll be talked about for generations.
Just when I think things may possibly calm down a little, a harsh reality puts our new marriage to the test.
Genre: Romance
