My name is Roxie Andrews and I was raised knowing one truth: my only job in this world is to protect my little brother so he can fulfill his destiny to save the world.

I can’t figure out if that’s a good thing or bad, but the proximity – and those gold eyes – makes me antsy.
I’ve got another dragon pack demanding my brother join them, but that decision is a no brainer. I don’t take orders from anyone and there’s no way I’m getting my brother tangled up with a leader who thinks anyone who isn’t a dragon – namely me – doesn’t deserve to walk the earth alongside his majestic butt.
He doesn’t understand the word, “no,” but I’ll add it to his dictionary.
Oh, and there’s a six-hundred-year-old vampire raising the stakes. She thinks she can force me into working for her. Since she can kill me faster than I can take a breath, restructuring her dictionary might be harder, but I’m tenacious. I’ll get the job done.
