The Double Life of Anna Day

(2006)
A novel by

Anna Day is finally in love with the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with, but there's one problem. His mother. Charlie, Anna's boyfriends, hasn't allowed her to meet his cultured mother.
When Charlie leaves the country for three months she sets about secretly meeting his mother and getting herself into his mother's good books. She reinvents herself as a more cultured lady of society. Anna finds herself attending garden parties, tennis and going on holidays to look at Art, to get to know Meredith and be welcomed into the family by her. Little do Meredith or Charlie know what she is doing. When she finally starts to make the right impression she thinks that things will be perfect and that they can be a happy family. But will it turn out happily ever after when Charlie finds out?
I thought that I would be disappointed in this book, but after reading it I wasn't. I quite enjoyed the book even though it may not be what I am normally interested in. It would be nice if this book had a sequel to the life of Anna Day and what happens in her future and the future of her friends around her.
