Marita Conlon-McKenna is an Irish children's novels author. She was born in Dublin in 1956 and brought up in Goatstown. She is the author of the Children of the Famine Trilogy which was inspired by the Great Irish Famine. She lives in Dublin with her husband and four children and is the president of Irish PEN.
