Avalon
Avalon Lively wasn’t your typical teenage high school senior. In fact, she wasn’t your typical anything. With white-blonde hair and blue eyes that shouldn’t ever change color, Avalon was special. At least, that’s how her parents had explained it to her. She was unlike anyone else she knew, including her parents. The only other person on the planet who could understand her uniqueness was her twin sister, Neve. After all, Neve’s blues eyes shouldn’t be changing color, either.
With the ability to move objects with her mind, Avalon has always been mindful of how different she and her sister were. Her parents were normal. Her friends were normal. Her life was normal. Everything was blessedly normal, except for Avalon and Neve.
So, when their eighteenth birthday begins to near, and Avalon starts feeling stranger than usual, she can’t help but to wonder what it could all mean. She was used to feeling out of sorts, but these new sensations felt like something different. Feeling the winds of change, she believes the answers to all her questions are contained in a sacred book and personal letter from her birth mother that she’ll finally be able to access on her eighteenth birthday.
Griffin
Griffin Keenstone wasn’t your typical teenage high school senior. In fact, he wasn’t even supposed to be in high school anymore. He was only repeating his senior year of school for one reason: Avalon Lively.
Raised in Rýkr, Griffin wasn’t like the rest of the people in the world. The entire town of Rýkr and its people weren’t like the rest of the world’s population. Born with special abilities, the town’s population kept to themselves and followed the monarchy that rule the picturesque Northern California town. And with Griffin being a member of Rýkr’s monarchy, he was gifted with more than one special talent like the rest of his family. However, there was one thing that exceeded the magnificence of the gifts possessed by the townspeople of Rýkr, and that was their mating bonds.
The very definition of soulmates, when you are bonded with another person from Rýkr, that bond is unbreakable. The second that you are bonded, your relationship supersedes everything and everyone else. The bond becomes a mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual connection that cannot be severed.
Or can it?
A tragic beginning that ends up turning into a disruptive experiment sends Griffin looking for the piece of him that has always been missing. No longer able to wait anymore, Griffin sets out to claim the only person in the world who can settle his soul.
Unaware that Rýkr even exists, Avalon isn’t prepared for the brown-haired, blue-eyed stunner who comes barreling into her life, upending everything she ever thought she knew. Especially, when the gorgeous boy’s gaze starts to change color right before her very eyes.
While Avalon is trying to get a grip on her newfound reality, Griffin’s doing everything he can to make Avalon his, and he’s not afraid to fight dirty.
**NOTE: This is the first book in the Rýkr Duet. It can be considered a cliffhanger, though the books contain separate lead characters and love stories.
