This revised and enlarged edition of A VERSE TO HORRORS: AN ABECEDARY OF MONSTERS AND THE MONSTROUS (first published in 2012) increases the number of limerick-like verses from 142 to well over 300, while at the same time exploring wider definitions and implications of what it is to be “monstrous.” Physical and literal, psychological and metaphorical, comic and serious, the Monsters encountered here have been part of human awareness, from the earliest Myths, to the multiple convolutions of History, to the most recent forays in fictional Horror.
