Mila has the holidays all planned—board a plane, visit her brother Eli, and enjoy Christmas with family. So when a nasty flu hits and she finds herself puking into her overnight bag in an Uber instead, she isn’t happy.
Nor is she happy that Eli has sent Landon, of all people, to take care of her. Friends like Landon shouldn’t see her sprawled on her front steps, too weak to even unlock the door. And he shouldn’t be so sweet about sending her to bed and tending to her every need. Above all, he most definitely should not be doing her laundry. The laundry she just puked all over in a stranger’s car.
But as Landon cares for her, Mila is forced to come to terms with the spark that’s been there all along. She’s the flighty one, and the last thing she wants to do is hurt the man who cradled her on the couch while she fought a fever. Perhaps the only way to protect his heart is to break her own by ignoring the fire between them.
