The grim shadow of range war loomed over Montana when Creighton Marley settled a bunch of nesters on land claimed by cattlemen. With the nesters came ploughs to churn up the green grass, and barbed wire to fence in the open range. Before the ranchers could fight back, mysterious renegades killed a 7UP puncher and destroyed a band of woolies at a rival sheep camp. Suddenly cowmen and sheepherders were ready to go gunning for each other - until Buck Rawlins of the 7UP and a daring young outlaw called Nighthawk stepped into the breech with flaming colts, to smash the deadliest conspiracy that ever struck the untamed west!
