I've worked my entire life to succeed in a sport I don't particularly enjoy. I've faced homophobic teammates, hostile locker rooms, and coaches who couldn't care less about me as a person, but nothing could have prepared me for this.
It's my first year - my fresh start - with a Professional League football team and teammates who are blissfully unaware of my sexuality. I have a contract, money to keep my family afloat, and I'm only the backup kicker this season. Perfect, right?
Wrong. Both the starting kicker and punter go out for injuries, and now I'm all the team has. Talk about a heavy weight on my shoulders.
And to top it all off, the most popular guy on the team is . . . pursuing me? Everything he says seems to have a double meaning, and it sounds suspiciously as if he's propositioning me.
