My name is Allie LaPerse, and I’m hiding.

I’m not hiding from a violent husband or boyfriend. I’m not hiding from the police. No, I’m hiding from a god.

I’m the personification of Persephone, daughter of Zeus and Demeter, and my father promised me to Hades long, long ago.

The problem is that I want to fall in love. Not be handed over like a belonging. A possession.

Except someone important has been kidnapped and I’ve been tasked with finding her or the entire world dies in 48 hours.

After all, when it’s Death’s wife that has been taken, that’s something he can do. The fact that he’s my brother has no bearing on anything at all.

Can I do it? Can I find her and save her? With more gods roaming around the Raleigh area than I originally thought, that’s not an easy question to answer.

I just hope I can. After all, while I’m a goddess and will continue on in the afterlife, I like this life. I like my friends. I like my shop. Too bad the world doesn’t care about what I like and has a habit of teaching people their limitations.
