Laying the Odds

Wrai has always tried to do his best for himself and his daughter, but growing up in and out of the gambling dens of the four dukedoms wouldn't be good for a young girl. A lot of coin would change things. He stole a pendant thinking he could turn a good profit, but it's even more trouble than getting caught loading the dice. Especially when three idiots who said they would buy it blackmail him into helping them steal more pendants with the same powers. The same idiots who let casters from beyond the Great Sea lay hands on the pendant and use it to bring in a whole army. And if there is one thing that would be worse than his daughter growing up in a gambling den, it's her growing up in a war-zone, so he'd better get that pendant back and fast.
