Sneak Peek:
My first thought was for Sonia as I ducked, looking back in the direction the shot had come from, afraid that the worst had happened. She dashed over to the car with a pale face, panting for breath as she reached for the handle. She pulled the door open.
Relief flooded through me to see her moving and alive.
“Get my rifle!” I whispered as I tried to figure out where the shot had come from.
The officer’s death had been so shocking that I had a hard time remembering exactly what the report of the weapon had sounded like. The bullet had entered the officer from the front, confirming my initial observation that the shooter had been behind us.
Hatch? I wondered. It was a bit too serendipitous that he had been following us when this all happened.
But was he really capable of murder?
Was he capable of assisting a group of foreign invaders?
Genre: Thriller
