Cara Jones loves her job as a Hollywood makeup artist and the opportunity for excitement and travel it provides. While on set for a movie about Rupert the Brave and Wallace the Traitor, an ancient necklace sends her back in time to Medieval Scotland to see first-hand how events actually unfolded. She quickly finds that, as per usual, Hollywood got it wrong. 

Lord Wallace Wolfsbane wants Sir Rupert Dinsdale dead, dead, dead. His demise in front of King and court will avenge Wallace’s father’s death, regain Wallace’s properties, and clear his family name. Everything is working according to his well-laid plans when the lovely Lady Cara appears out of nowhere, forcing Wallace to save her life over killing Dinsdale. While his plans for Dinsdale may take precedence, laying siege to Cara’s heart might well be a goal worth fighting for.

Falling in love is unexpected. She can’t stay, but even if she could, would an enemy destroy them both? 

When modern meets medieval, can there be a happily ever after?

“If you will.”

“Sure,” she took his hand. “Why not?”

With her smaller, much softer hand in his, he led the way, rounding tables and joining the others.

When he faced Cara, she gave him a wide, impudent grin. “Now that you have me here, I’ll admit I have no idea how to line dance.”

Wallace chuckled. “With spirits flowing freely this eve, I’ve my doubts any of this lot will stay upright for the tune.”

Her face tilted, flirtatious. “If you’re willing to risk it, I’ll follow your lead.”

Ah. She did not understand yet that he would risk much for her.
