Sergeant Sierra Winters’ life is the military, but when an injury sustained in Afghanistan leaves her future in jeopardy, she must reevaluate everything she believes. The long days of recovery are brutal, but she’s determined to make it through and to find her canine brother-in-arms, Staff Sergeant Rhaegar. Noah Jackson, a nurse at the Veteran’s hospital, works hard for his patients and is trying to put his life back together after a painful divorce. When his brother’s close friend and previous commanding officer shows up at the ranch, he wants to help. Sierra’s presence, however, soon has Noah questioning the choices he’s made for his life, and for Kaylee, his seven-year-old daughter.
