Volume # 5 of The Bregdan Chronicles continues the sweeping saga that now encompasses the final year of the American Civil War.
Review: Simply put: These books are amazing. I cannot put them down. Especially The Last Long Night- I read the entire book in one sitting (and that is an accomplishment considering I'm a full time RN, homeschooling mom, and back in school full-time!) The characters are so well developed with such multifaceted traits, each one of them is endeared to my heart.
I also appreciate Ginny's writing style to be so detailed while at the same time allowing the story to flow so well. She is committed to the historicity of the Civil War and Ginny's efforts researching each key political and military figure bridges the gap of time. These stories are also clean and tasteful, so no worries with your teen readers! My four kiddos are still <10, but in no time, these books will certainly be part of our literature curriculum! Thank you, Ginny!!
Review: I waited to give a review until I had read the first 5 books. I am struggling to find appropriate words to describe the awe I am in, and I find myself failing miserably. I absolutely could not put these books down. I would finish one, and immediately hop online to go get the next one....sometimes in the wee hours of the morning, when my tail should have been asleep. The writing style of this author brings you right into the story as if you are a part of it. She has amazing talent to capture the imagination, and bring you right into a virtual reality.
Thank you Ginny Dye...not only for an amazing journey....but for those God and light bulb moments throughout each book, that reached beyond the pages, and made their home inside the soul. What can I say overall? Well, let me put it like this: these books are like... "Gone with the Wind" meets up with "Eat,Pray,Love"; then whispers some "Secret life of Bees", forges some "Steel Magnolia's", and at times, wraps itself with the "Color Purple." Sigh. Did I mention how much I loved these books?
Review: I have read all the books and I am waiting for the next one - can't wait till it comes out. Every one of the books were great. There were times when I had very important things to do and couldn't put my kindle down. That is the only problem with these books because they are truly fantastic, but when you start one you don't want to stop!
Genre: Inspirational
