Years earlier, Travis Grady wakes up unable to remember how to tie his shoes. His condition degrades and soon the knowledge to do other simple things evades him. Fearful he is suffering from a form of early dementia, Travis is relieved to find out he has fallen victim to a rare brain virus called, ARC. He is cured and the virus is a thing of the past.
But all that changes when a chain of events causes the resurgence of the degenerative virus. No longer is it a rarity, most of the world is stricken. This time there is no cure. The disease not only is worse. It is deadly.
Now, Travis, one of the few immune, must face the inevitable, watching as everyone he loves slowly fades from existence, first mentally, then physically. All while desperately hoping some way, somehow, it will stop.
