Joseph Delaney was the English author of the dark fantasy series Spook's and The Starblade Chronicles, as well as other spinoffs and information books.

Most of the places in the Spook's books were based on real places in Lancashire. And the inspiration behind the stories often came from local ghost stories and legends.
