I write romantic comedies for a living, but life has taught me that “true love” is fiction. It always ends badly, and if you’re lucky you get out in one piece. I did, and I’m following my dreams in LA. My cat and I are enjoying our quiet little life, but of course, good things don’t last.

In the space of two days, my abusive ex finds me, I hire a bodyguard named Lucas, and social services calls to tell me my favorite cousin is dead, and oh, by the way, she left you custody of a baby you didn’t know she had. Welcome to fatherhood!

To protect this adorable little girl, and myself, the three of us head to a remote safehouse. Lucas is sweet and funny and good with the baby, and my cat likes him better than me. I’m not sure how long we are going to be here, but I’m already afraid that my heart isn’t going to make it home in one piece.

Genre: Romantic Suspense
