Perdido County: Misdirection

A pharmacist’s murder spurs the seventh episode of the compulsively readable Perdido County, the modern day Western crime fiction serial Walt Longmire fans will love.

West Texas Sheriff Owen Wolfe responds to a homicide in downtown Kimble that takes him to Lynch Family Pharmacy. Someone stabbed to death the druggist and owner behind the counter in what seems an obvious robbery.

Joined by deputies from his department, Wolfe relentlessly investigates the killing. Later when evidence surfaces that calls the robbery motive into question and suggests the killer may have staged it as a misdirection to cover up the true motive behind the killing, Wolfe and his team take the investigation in a new direction in their efforts to identify a suspect.

But before Owen can close in, he first must wade through the discoveries of seedy affairs and closely held family secrets. Could these new developments and the case be connected? As the stakes of the investigation continue to mount, Wolfe is up against a case where the murder motive seems something far more personal than greed.
