My boss is the king of organized crime in St. Louis. And me? Well, I’m his right-hand man.
That’s why I’m the one he trusts to figure out what’s going on in our territory. Men are dropping dead in alleys left and right. The cops are useless to figure it out, and normally we wouldn���t trouble ourselves with the problem either. It’s just that the last three fellas to drop dead were from the Allard family. Our family.
Not that they were particularly good guys, but then, none of us really are. It’s my job to figure out who is responsible and whether my boss and the queen are in danger. Only when I catch the murderer in the act, it raises an entirely unexpected alarm. The kind that has me imaging putting the killer under my protection and under me.
Suddenly, I’m less concerned with the men she’s offing, and more interested in how I can help her achieve her every goal. And when I uncover the real reason she’s brought her murder game to the table, I have a choice to make. Loyalty or love? Because I’m not sure there’s room at this table for both.
