Wellspring is a small isolated community that gets cut off from the rest of the world every year when the winter storm arrives and for many of the residents the remoteness is exactly what they crave. The town's main source of income is from the medical research centre that set up shop some time ago and now financially supports the community.

It has been 25 years since Isabella Morton had been driven away from the small town of Wellspring in the middle of the night as a child in a sobbing, confused state of mind staring out through the rear window of her mother’s car as they'd fled. It was a night that she still had nightmares about from time to time but now, aged 36 she was finally returning back to the place that she supposed was technically home, although it didn't feel like that at all.

Her mother never spoke about what had caused them to leave her father behind but now with his passing she has been called back to Wellspring to settle his affairs, something that is going to raise more questions than answers.

Now reconnecting with her two childhood friends who never left the small town Belle will try to unravel her own past and that of her family, but behind every door lies a secret and a pair of watching eyes as Belle is welcomed home but not by everyone.

There is a dark mystery at the heart of this town and darker forces at work. What started out as a quest for the truth will quickly become a fight for survival and Belle will soon learn that a trip down memory lane can be fatal.
