Monroe's Widowed Bride

(2020)
(The fifth book in the Lawmen's Brides series)
A novel by

Knox Mills, Texas, 1853

Once upon a time, Lotta Ford was a young girl who had a crush on Monroe O’Keefe, the soldier who served with her father at Bent’s Fort. But those ties are cut when the soldiers leave for the Mexican War in 1846.

By the time Lotta is twenty years old, she doesn’t know what has happened to her father or Monroe. She hasn’t seen or heard from them since they left for the war.

Now Lotta is sitting mourning the death of her husband when a knock comes at the door. It’s the new marshal in town coming to check on her, and Lotta is shocked when she sees it’s Monroe.

But the Monroe O’Keefe who walks in the door isn’t the same man she knew and loved when she was a young girl. He’s aloof and distant, as if he’s a stranger.

Time has created a barrier between them that Lotta doesn’t quite understand. That’s okay, she doesn’t need Monroe or anybody else for that matter.

Or so she thinks… until another tragedy strikes. Will a Comanche attack soften Monroe’s heart and give them a chance at love?

Author’s Note:
Monroe’s Widowed Bride, Lawmen’s Brides Book Five is a novel-length, historical mail-order bride romance with no cliffhangers that can be fully enjoyed as a standalone romance. It’s a good clean romance with characters who hold Christian values. If you’ve already read the previous books in my Lawmen’s Brides series, then you’ll be sure to enjoy seeing more of those couples you loved as side characters in this book!
