The War in South Africa

(1902)
A non fiction book by

Although Arthur Conan Doyle is best known for his stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes, he was a prolific writer whose other works include science fiction stories, historical novels, plays, romances, poetry, and non-fiction. This volume covers the British involvement in the war with the Boer Republic. Doyle said that there must be a book that sets the record straight. He felt that the British government and soldiers were misjudged. The book begins with discussions of what led up to the conflict in South Africa. Later chapters discuss the farm burnings, concentration camps and eventual discussions for peace.
