This short story was inspired by the Diane Arbus photograph titled, “ Identical Twins, Roselle, New Jersey,1967," which I saw in college. After watching “The Shining” (Stanley Kubrik), I discovering that Kubrik was inspired by the same photograph when the boy on the tricycle encounted the twins in the hallway – “Hello, Daniel. . . Come play with us.” – I decided it was time to put my own nightmares into words.
“The Sisters” is a preview from a short story collection, Louisiana Horrors, which will be released early next year.
