Carter Croft had left 4 Oaks with his mother years ago, when his dad died. He was back for his grandfather's funeral and back with his brother, Kane, and a half brother he barely knew, Rio. His job kept him on the road a lot but nothing cured the feeling of restlessness inside him. Failed relationships aside, he always knew where he belonged. Once he runs into Skye Cassel again, there's no doubt in Carter's mind why he agreed to so easily to staying on 4 Oaks and helping his brothers run the ranch. Skye and her brother Rayne were the town outcasts, always had been, but she'd come back and started a successful business and was determined to live life on her own terms. When she sees her childhood hero, Carter Croft again though, Skye realizes how badly she wanted to love and trust and have all the normal things that people took for granted in her life. Carter was handsome, charming, but most of all, passionately loving. She was a woman who lived her life on risks, and taking Carter to her bed, into her heart, would be biggest one of all.
