Kate's happiness on her birthday lasted until she opened one of her birthday cards and saw the signature - Katherine Douglas - and underneath it - Bob Douglas. Why should two almost unknown people send her a card? And why should her father be so angry and her mother turn pale? Two days after her birthday Kate went to Scotland to find her true self - but it was not in any way she expected.
