The Curse Girl

(2011)
A novel by

Seventeen-year-old Bee Hendrick's life took a sharp turn for the worse when her father lured her to a mysterious mansion outside town to rid his family of a magical debt. Now she's trapped inside an enchanted house with rooms that rearrange themselves at random, servants whose bodies are slowly morphing out of existence...and then there's Will, who is simultaneously the hottest and most frustrating guy she’s ever met.

At first Bee's only goal is to smash open a window and escape, but there’s just one problem... No one can leave until the spell is lifted, so if she wants to be free she must first break the curse cast over the house and its inhabitants. And she doesn't have the slightest idea how to do that.

Will wants nothing to do with Bee or her help, but he's running out of options. Time is almost up.

They must work together to break the curse, or they'll be prisoners forever.

**EXCERPT**

He raked his gaze over me once. I felt like a package that had come in the mail, one in which the contents had turned out to be a slight disappointment.

“So you’re the Curse Girl,” he said finally, after a long pause. “The words of the curse spoke about a girl called Beauty, but I thought the line meant a beautiful girl.”

Approximately 40,000 words in length.
