Jax Winter needs to plan a heist.

He’s pretty tired of eking out a living in pocket change pilfered with card tricks and sleight-of-hand slips. Nah, he’s ready for the big leagues—the knock-your-socks off, make-the-national-news kind of heist that has cops across the country scratching their heads, maybe slapping a nifty moniker on the mysterious thief who planned it. Plus, being able to pay rent would be nice, too.

Problem with heists is, they usually require a team. And Jax doesn’t have one.

Jax knows he’s meant for grand heists and great escapes—destined for legend. Fresh in New York City fleeing a dark and twisted past, barely making ends meet in his run-down, shared Queens sublet, Jax isn’t exactly rolling in the dough or the prestige. But if he wants a shot at making it big, he’ll need to take a chance on a friend or two.
Problem with friends is, you never know who’s going to betray you. Use you.

Or capture your heart …

JAX OF HEARTS is a set of three conjoined stories following the misadventures of an up-and-coming thief with a penchant for card tricks and a bit of an attitude problem. There’s a heist (or two), a masked meet-cute with a mysterious (but definitely hot) stranger, more than a fair share of shenanigans … and just a hint of coming darkness.
