This is a short story & audiobook.

Trudy Tough is an up-and-comer in her set. She must be. She's been invited on a summer holiday by some of the most luxurious girls in her school. They're headed out of New York City to a beachside getaway on Shelter Island, a gorgeous location with a dark and turbulent history. Those bygones include an urban legend that all Trudy's new friends seem to know... yet no one wants to talk about. But it's still there, under the peach cobbler and beach parties, as storms streak the nighttime sky, and thunder cracks above the mansion like the hoofbeats of a great beast.

Trudy uncovers that on Shelter Island people sometimes get misplaced, and are never seen again. There are whispers of an urban legend, a fairy Rath and buried bones.... But all this time, she's had a secret of her own. A strange quirk of her nature her parents have tried to change and conceal since the day they first took her in. And -- as the legend becomes increasingly real -- it might be the kind of secret that lets a girl defy the odds.

This short story is a modern adaptation (or 'retelling') of the Celtic fairy tale 'The Bull of Norroway'. If you love Celtic Mythology, this story is for you!
