Double Eagles

Captain Thomas Gunnison's commerce ship, the Phantom Hope, is laden with extremely vital cargo: two thousand Henry rifles that could turn the tide of victory for the Union, and fifteen million dollars in newly minted double eagles to finance the war effort. So when the ship is attacked and crippled, Gunnison makes the only possible decision -- he and his men will transport the gold overland across Mexico.
