After Caroline Cain’s father dies she nearly hits rock bottom.

And she knows she needs a new start. After an incredible stroke of luck she lands herself a job with the famous novelist Adeline Stevens. And, even better, the post is to spend summer in the sunny South of France.

Caroline quickly falls for Adeline’s grandson, Simon, and they seem to be perfectly suited. But everything is thrown into turmoil when she comes face to face with Giles Guthrie - a ruthless TV interviewer who she partly blames for her father’s death.

Despite herself, after she is constantly thrown into Giles’ company, Caroline finds herself more and more fascinated by him. When Simon proposes to her Caroline knows she should be over the moon. But there is a niggling doubt at the back of her mind.

Is Simon really the one for her? Or is there something there with Giles? Should she do the sensible thing, or will she give in to her passion?

Vanessa Graham is the author of five novels including Second Time Around’ and ‘In the Balance’.
