Bracing themselves for yet another family Christmas, Kate and Tony Chivers know that they will need more than goodwill to see them through the seasonal crisis. Their hospitality is soon put to the test when Tony's brother turns up evangelising about his new religion, and their son arrives with a new and 'older' woman, announcing his impending fatherhood. Their daughter does little to help the situation either. With tempers frayed and the already strained atmosphere at breaking-point, this hilarious comedy follows the Chivers family antics from chaos to total catastrophe.
