Three Short Horror Stories: Dark fiction about crimes committed. In "Oh Hell", Rick doesn't care about the debate over the existence of Hell. Leading a life as a petty criminal, he believes he knows his final destination. But when he dies he seeks escape from Hell and its punishment by convincing Satan he could have a lot more souls with a good public relations man. The Devil is persuaded, and Rick makes propaganda videos with Hitler & a band of other high-ranking Nazis from World War II, Jack the Ripper, Stalin, and a whole host of diabolical characters from history. But once Rick returns to the living he finds it a challenge to pull the con game off.
In "Can You Dig It", Todd murders his wife. His terrible crime opens an evil can of worms leading him to a dark adventure in which his nasty sister-in-law gets entangled. When the Devil seeks Todd out to atone for his sins, Todd realizes his nightmares have just begun.
In "Not So Bad", Mr D. or Death, is weary of being feared. He needs a spokesperson to spread the word that he's actually a friendly guy. Unfortunately on the day Death decides to take action, his only choices are a texting teen, a gangbanger, and Larry, a smoking, overweight car salesman. Larry reluctantly takes on the assignment. The results are humorous to say the least.
My short stories often contain mystery and horror. Who knows how the Devil works and to what extremes a character will take to avoid the punishment of Hell? Sometimes the evil we fight is within us, and the adventure begins when the hero takes action to defeat it. Although I also write about nightmares that come true, my short stories are often humorous and contain some romance. And, while I have a long history as a dark fiction author, I also write inspirational non-fiction for publications such as "Chicken Soup for the Soul" and "Cup of Comfort". My writing has been compared to Joe R. Lansdale, Neil Gaiman, and Jack Kilborn, with a bit of Edgar Allen Poe thrown in
