The title novelette, Mother Knows Best, was the basis for the 1928 black and white Film of the same name. Description: blue polka-dot boards with title in blue offset on white background, paper title to orange spine, top edge dyed orange, pictorial endpapers and illustrated title pages for each of the eight stories: Mother Knows Best; Every Other Thursday; Classified; Holiday; Consider The Lilies; Our Very Best People; Perfectly Independent and Blue Blood. Condition: Good. All edges rubbed, first signature showing threads but holding, points rubbed through. Spine dirty with mild fading, one hole in paper on the spine title. Top and bottom of spine soft but not pulled or torn. Previous owner's name neatly scripted on the ffep, pencil marks on rear endpapers, otherwise clean and free of any marks. A good reading copy or could be rebound.
